Breheimsenteret - destroyed in fire - will be rebuilt

On Thursday July 28 the national park centre Breheimsenteret was totally destroyed in a fierce fire. Luckily, it was long after opening hours, so noone was in the building. The fire was so wild that the firefighters and the police could do nothing but watch the great building disappear.

Now, after the nightmare, it is important to emphasise that the fire will have no impact at all on the rest of the wonderful tourist destination Jostedalen. The Breheimsenteret staff will still handle bookings, ticket service and tourist information from Nigardsbreen Gjesteheim, by the driveway to the burnt down center. Contact details as before.

Plans to rebuild Breheimsenteret are allready well on the way.

In the heart of Norway

The Sognefjord stretches all the way in to the heart of Norway, but the distance to Bergen is just 153 nautical miles (equivalent to one overnight voyage).
